A real workhorse of a model, the style 21 of this period sits perfectly between the style 18 and style 28 with it's paired back styling.
Rosewood back, sides, fingerboard, bridge and Sitka Spruce top. The voice is expressive and dynamic with a rich woody aspect to the tone. It's powerful and dynamic and feels at home whether played fingerstyle or strummed. Overall this is an excellent all-rounder instrument that covers a lot of ground!
Visually the guitar has had a few bumps, knocks and repairs over years but it remains original. The top has aged nicely, the finish has honeyed and with the dark tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard and binding this guitar oozes character.
There is a repaired crack at the heel and some finish overspray to an area of bucklewear on the back. The nut is changed and it appears to have been refretted but the playability is spot on, the neck is straight and true, the action is great, and there's room on the saddle for adjustment in the future should it be required. All in all this is a stunning vintage Martin that is ready to go!
