Wonderful 2009 Private Stock Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 in Teal Black finish. The Private Stock program represents the highest quality of materials, the most personally crafted instruments and the greatest level of customisation available at PRS. From the all important tone woods to the wide range of eye catching finishes to the infinite combination of appointments every guitar is carefully conceived and built with a “one-off” mentality striving to provide an instrument that is equally as good as an heirloom to be treasured as it is a tool to make music. Featuring an African Mahogany body a with stunning Private Stock Grade Quilted Maple top, Curly Mahogany neck with a choice, dark East Indian Rosewood Fingerboard. The Fingerboard is inlayed with Mother of Pearl Modern Eagle II birds with a Paua Heart centres. The Ebony headstock inlay is the new Private Stock Eagle with Paua Heart centre. The neck carve is the popular PRS wide/thin profile. The guitar comes with a pair of PRS 59/09 Treble and Bass Pickups. First introduced in 2009, PRS 59/09 pickups are articulate while providing rich harmonic overtones.Â
With a powerful bridge pickup and a touch of brightness in the neck, these pickups are the perfect tool to achieve clarity and definition with a punch. The guitar has been specced with the pre-2011 five way rotary switch. Hardware comprises a Nickel PRS Tremolo and PRS locking tuners with Abalone faced wooden buttons. The original spec sheet for the guitar specifies Ebony accent parts with the control knobs, tremolo arm tip, pickup surrounds and tuner buttons all made from this exotic hardwood. The guitar is currently fitted with cream pickup surrounds but all the original parts are included with the guitar. The guitar is is excellent condition throughout, the finish is superb with very little signs that the guitar has had much playtime at all. The guitar comes safely housed in its brown leather Private Stock case, with certificate and additional hardware. The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar, the iconic instrument that started it all back in 1985 and this Private Stock model pays perfect homage to that innovation and heritage.
